The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has introduced the Golden Jubilee Scholarship Program 2024, designed to support students from economically disadvantaged families.

This scholarship is available for students enrolled in government or private universities and extends to those pursuing technical and vocational courses at Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) or centers affiliated with the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT). It is also applicable for integrated courses after completing the 12th grade. The deadline for submitting applications is December 22, 2024.

Eligibility Criteria

General Scholarship: 
Academic Qualifications: Applicants must have achieved a minimum of 60% in their 10th and 12th standard examinations, vocational, or diploma courses during the academic years 2021-22, 2022-23, or 2023-24.

Family Income: The annual family income must not exceed ₹2,50,000.

Course of Study: Applicants should intend to pursue higher education in disciplines like medicine, engineering, graduation, integrated courses, diploma courses, or vocational studies.

Institution Type: Candidates must be enrolled in government-recognized colleges, institutions, or ITI courses.

Special Scholarship for Girls:
Exclusively for female students pursuing higher studies in intermediate, vocational, or diploma courses post-10th grade.

Academic Qualifications: Candidates must have secured at least 60% in their Class 10 exams.

Family Income: The family’s annual income must not exceed ₹2,50,000. However, for women who are sole earners (e.g., widows, single mothers, or unmarried), the limit is raised to ₹4,00,000.

Institution Type: The applicant must study in government-recognized colleges, institutions, or ITI programs for two years.

Exclusions: This scholarship does not cover postgraduate students.

Scholarship Amount

General Scholarship: Students pursuing medical courses (MBBS, BAMS, BHMS, BDS) will receive ₹40,000 annually in two installments of ₹20,000, for the duration of their course, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.

Engineering students (BE, BTech, BArch) will be awarded ₹30,000 per year, disbursed in two installments of ₹15,000.

Students enrolled in general graduation, integrated, diploma, or vocational courses will receive ₹20,000 annually, in two installments of ₹10,000.


Special Scholarship for Girls: Female students will be granted ₹15,000 annually for pursuing intermediate, vocational, or diploma courses. This will be paid in two installments of ₹7,500 each over two years.

How to Apply

Eligible candidates can submit their applications online via the official LIC website: www.licindia.in. Upon submission, applicants will receive an acknowledgment email at their registered email address.

Further updates and correspondence will be managed by the divisional office specified in the acknowledgment email.
